Setter Room

The first 24-25 days of the incubation of eggs occurs in the Setter Room. The turkey embryo requires sufficient fresh air, proper temperature and humidity levels to ensure successful incubation.

A variety of options are available for hatchery equipment, which makes is difficult to recommend a standard format for hatching fertile eggs. Consultation with manufacturer’s recommendations is suggested in conjunction with consideration of a few other important factors;

  • Variations between strains
  • Age of the breeder flock in lay
  • Altitude
